Select and Prep a Fleece Like a Pro
Do you dream of making a sweater from wool fresh off the sheep? Meredith Cherry of Siren Song Fleece Works wool mill will walk you through the process of selecting a high-quality fleece, skirting and scouring. Touch fleeces from and learn about different breeds, find out what to look for when shopping for a fleece or raising sheep for wool, and get hands-on with preparing a fleece for spinning.

Instructor Bio:
Meredith fell head over heels in love with the world of fiber arts in 2020. She is now an avid knitter, weaver, and spinner, raises Icelandic sheep, and operates a custom-processing wool mill: Siren Song Fleece Works. She lives, plays, and works in Grass Valley, California. When she's not playing with wool, she is also a professional mermaid. Meredith has taught workshops at her own mill in Grass Valley, SCFF, Craftfolk Collective and at the upcoming 2026 HGA Wool and Spinning Week.
