Enter Your Handmade Items

Do you like to knit, crochet, weave, felt, spin, embroider, or cross stitch? Enter your handmade items in the 2026 SoCal Fiber Fair to show off your skills- and maybe win a ribbon and a prize!

Read below for everything you need to know to enter, and then click here to secure your spot.

2026 SoCal Fiber Fair (SCFF) Competitions

 

Awards and Prizes

Each category will be awarded one each of the following (unless fewer than 4 entries

are received):

Best of Category: Rosette plus $25*

1st Place: Ribbon plus $10*

2nd Place: Ribbon plus $8*

3rd Place: Ribbon plus $5*

*Note: all prize money listed will be awarded in the form of a SCFF Shopping Voucher which can be used at any vendor booth (except food and photo booth) and must be redeemed during this year’s event. Cannot be redeemed for cash. Shopping vouchers may be picked up by winning exhibitors at the SCFF booth at any time during the Fiber Fair. Vendors will receive instructions on how to receive credit from SCFF for any vouchers redeemed.

 

General Rules

These rules apply to all categories. Please read thoroughly.

1. How to enter: Register your entries and pay the $3 per item fee here by the Nov. 4, 2026, deadline.

2. One entry per person per category.

3. Maximum 20 entries per category.

4. Upon completing the online registration, you will receive a link for a pdf “Entry Description” form that you will need to fill out and include with your item at the time

of drop-off.

Please note: All entries must be delivered in person to one of the following locations. Mail-in entries will not be accepted by SCFF.

Early drop-off or mailing entries to the above yarn shops ahead of time is at the discretion of each shop. Arrangements must be made through them. Judging will take place on

Sat. Nov. 14. Late entries will not be accepted.

5. With each item, please include a printed copy of the “Entry Description” form you received when you registered online. Be sure to include pattern name and yarn information if you have it. No personal information (other than name and city/state) will be displayed with the item. Be sure to sign the form as an agreement to all rules listed.

6. All entries must be handmade by the exhibitor listed on the registration.

7. All entries will be displayed uncovered (indoors) throughout the event behind a rope. The area will be monitored by volunteers as much as possible, but SCFF cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage that may occur to any items for any reason.

8. All entries must remain on display until 4pm on Sunday Nov. 22. No Exceptions.

9. Returning/Picking Up your items: You may choose to have your entries returned by mail or you can pick them up in person.

Return by mail: Be sure to include a pre-paid return postage label along with your entry when you drop it off. We will ship your item(s) back to you along with any earned ribbons within 5 days after the event. SCFF will not be held responsible for tracking or delivery once the item is in the mail/shipping carrier system.

In Person Pick up: You may choose to pick up your items at the event on Sunday Nov. 22 between 4-5 pm only. No earlier. A SCFF staff member will be available to assist exhibitors in picking up items. Please do NOT reach over and take your item. We need to make sure they are being returned to the correct person.

10. Items left after 5pm on Sunday Nov. 22 without arrangements for return mail will become the property of SCFF.

11.Cancellation/refund policy: If you have registered to enter competitions and then change your mind or are unable to follow through for any reason, please let us know and be sure to cancel any pre-paid return labels you may have purchased. Entry fees totaling $6 and under are non-refundable. Please contact us at info@socalfiberfair.com with any concerns regarding cancellations.

 

Competition categories

Limited to 20 entries per category.

01 Gloves: May be knitted or crocheted. Any size or yarn. Includes fingerless gloves, mittens, etc. Must include full pair.

02 Socks: May be knitted or crocheted. Any yarn, any size, any style. Must include full pair. No slippers.

03 Pumpkins: May be knitted, crocheted, or felted. Any yarn or color. No larger than 12” in any dimension, not including stem.

04 Christmas Stocking: May be knitted, crocheted, felted, or woven. Any style or color. Must include hanging loop. No larger than 24” long.

05 Sweaters, Knitted: Any size, any yarn, any style.

06 Sweaters, Crocheted: Any size, any yarn, any style.

07 Plush/Toy: May be knitted or crocheted using any yarn. Includes critters, creatures, people, or any other shape. Any size from mini up to 12” long, tall, or wide.

08 Shawls, Knitted: Any size, yarn, or style.

09 Shawls, Crocheted: Any size, yarn, or style.

10 Scarves and Cowls: May be knitted, or crocheted. Any size, yarn, or style.

11 Hats: May be knitted or crocheted. Includes beanies, berets, tams, etc. Any size, style,

or yarn.

12 Cross Stitch or Embroidery: Embroidered or cross-stitched piece must be no larger

than 10” in any dimension. May be flat, framed, in a hoop, or on a small item such as a pillowcase or handkerchief that can be folded into a 10” square. Nothing larger than a pillowcase.

13 Art Yarn: Open to spinners or dyers. Yarn must be in hank form. Minimum 3 oz. No wound cakes or balls. Any fiber.

14 Woven Item: Any woven design made on any type of loom with any type of yarn.

15 Bags: May be knitted, crocheted, woven, or felted. Includes totes, purses, market bags, etc. Any size, yarn, or style.

16 Needle Felting: May be 3D (people, critters, ornaments, etc.) or flat projects (landscapes, etc.) up to 10” long, tall, or wide.
