Embroider Your Knitting
Join us for an introduction to embellishing your knitting using embroidery stitches. Marla will guide you through duplicate stitch (handy for fixing or replicating intarsia), a variety of “straight” stitches, chained stitches, French knot, and other decorative stitches. No sewing or knitting experience necessary.

Other supplies needed:
- A knitted “base” (at least an 8” square) to work on. This can be a swatch of stockinette stitch (with a garter stitch border), a purchased sweater (thrifted is fine), or other knitted swatches.
- An assortment of colors of DK or worsted weight yarn (several yards of each color) for the embroidery.
- Note: your chosen “base” and embroidery yarns should be approximately the same weight and fiber content.)
- Tapestry needle and basic supplies, such as scissors, tapestry needle threader, etc.

Instructor Bio: Marla has taught at various events including DFW Fiberfest, Fiber Fun in the Sip, Houston Quilt festival, Fiber Christmas in July, Longmont Yarn Shop, a variety of guilds, retreats, regional festivals, and local yarn shops.
